Hi, I’m Sara!

ABOUT ME

Hi there! I’m a California girl with European roots and a passport for the world based in San Rafael, CA. I have a passion for the outdoors, travel, coffee, and movement expression. I have always been fascinated by the body's resilience and ability to adapt and transform through movement expressions. I started walking before most babies started crawling and haven’t stopped moving since, leading me to explore dance and eventually yoga.

At the age of 13, I walked into my first yoga class and fell in love with the practice. I had never experienced movement, anatomy, philosophy, and mythology woven together in such an articulated way. I knew deep within my soul that I would find a career in yoga one day.  During my dance career, I committed to a disciplined self-study yoga practice as a way to complement the intensity of daily dance training. It wasn’t until my early twenties that I took my first official yoga teacher training.

When you step into my classroom you will experience a playful fire, inquisitive nature, and technical expertise about the yoga practice.

MY TEACHING

My teachings pull from a wide tapestry of yoga modalities: Anusara, Forrest Yoga, Hatha, Pre/Post Natal, Yoga Detour Method, and Yoga Tune Up Method. My teachers Maritza, Ana Forrest, Rod Stryker, Maty Ezraty, and many others continue to inspire me daily to continue learning and sharing the wisdom of these teachings.

When you step into my classroom you will experience a playful fire, inquisitive nature, and technical expertise about the yoga practice. My approach is warm and enthusiastic. My goal is to create an engaging practice environment where you feel safe to learn, grow, and transform. My classes are carefully crafted toward a peak pose so you build skill and intelligence in your body as well as breath awareness to develop presence and focus. You will learn to know your body and have movement skills that you can apply on and off the mat for the rest of your life.

I offer public yoga classes, private sessions, local workshops, and international retreats. With a warm invitation, I welcome all levels, ages, and body types into my teaching. This practice is accessible for all who are ready to receive and explore. I see you and I am here for you!

Blessings, Sara
